Losing A Friend

I wrote this poem shortly after losing one of my good friends to suicide. She was only sixteen. Just because someone is always smiling doesn't mean they're okay.

What Happened To You?

The refreshing rain falls.
The cold night passes.
The soothing music plays.
What happened to you?
 
The warm sun shines.
The beach brings joy.
Cars pass us by,
But what happened to you?
 
You used to always laugh.
You used to always smile.
You used to bring us fun.
So what happened to you?
 
Something in you snapped.
Something in you clicked.
Something around you broke.
Now you are no more.
