  1. 21. Traffic Light

My mum helped my brother through his fight with a brain tumor for over 18 years. When he did pass, she felt life wasn't worth living without him and went into a spiraling depression. No one knew what to say to her other than the usual things to support someone you love. So I thought I'd try to write what she was feeling, and I gave it to her to let her know I understood.

This traffic light inside my head
Is always green and never red.
My thoughts, my dreams, and all my fears,
They all speed past my listening ears.

  3. 22. Hollow

When you can't express the agony and pain inside of you, poetry is one of the ways to get it out. I wrote this poem when I just couldn't find the meaning in anything. Everything was numb. I was paralyzed. A feeling so dreadful that I turned into an empty shell. I doubted every emotion I felt. I tried so hard to get through it all. I was broken. I no longer wanted to feel love. I just wanted the dreadful feeling to end. I hope you like it. This poem is for those you have felt like this.

    Emotions.
    Do you feel them?
    She was numb and frozen,
Yet it dimly sparkled like a dying gem.

No one can truly understand depression unless you either live with it or love someone who lives with it. 6. 24. The Feeling Of Emptiness

My story...I am a girl seeking love since my parents left me when I was young. I had no support or love. My dad was always with his second family and my mother abuses drugs and alcohol. With no support and love, I went on drugs, was highly addicted, used R6000 a day 7 days a week. I had to realize my mistake, with my mom still on drugs and my dad never here. I am in darkness, I am in pain, I am off the drugs with effort, but my life is still upside down...

  9. 27. The Ending Start

Hi. My name is Ethan Wulf. I'm chronically depressed from the death of my mother and grandfather, who was my only father figure, and I'm a very discontent person. But I try not to complain because I know nobody likes a complainer. I'm 17 and I'm sick of high school. I'm sure we've all been there, right kids? Well, I'm not much on introductions. If you really actually care to get to know me and about me, just read my poetry. Thanks for your time.

I've written everything I have to say,
But the words, they rot and fall away.
So with a hole in the bottom, I'm stuck in the same boat as before
And slowly sinking just in sight of shore.

This is a really good little fun sized poem the puts the darkness of the topic into a slightly lighter-hearted, almost depressingly whimsical feel. I really enjoyed it. Thank you.

  17. 35. Feel Again

In the poem the author delves into introspective contemplation about his own emotions and the longing to experience them fully once again. Through his observations of others living their lives, he wonders why he feels disconnected and how he arrived at this point. Memories of past emotions flood his mind as he sits in the shadows, pondering the possibility of feeling again.
