A Caring Mother

I wrote this poem around Mother's Day, and I was thinking what a mother should be and what makes a good mother. I based it around my own mum and what she was like.

A Mother

A mother is someone who cares,
Someone who will readily share.
Who tries to bandage up cut knees,
Who likes to give and to please.

A mother is someone who smiles a lot.
A mother is someone who gives all she's got.
She loves to make others smile,
Tries to go that extra mile...

A mother like this is a rare gemstone.
With a mother like this, you'll never feel alone,
For a mother can be your best friend,
Caring, sharing, pleasing to the very end.

ABOUT THE POET:

I enjoy writing poetry when I receieve the inspiration and I am finding there are plenty of topics to write about which I am keen for anyone to read.I also enjoy playing and listening to music and I play the guitar, ukulele, harmonica, and Irish tin whistle.
