Divorce Poem by Teens

I wrote this poem because I felt the need to express how I feel about my divorced parents and how the stresses of everyday life add on to the agony of my life. Stress has become a daily part of my life, and I feel the need to express it through poetry.

A Childhood Ruined By A Couple Of Signatures

default ©

Published: July 2016

My joy, smothered in hatred,
My happiness, gone with the wind,
My childhood, destroyed by papers.

Those papers represent my childhood.
Those papers ruined my soul.
Those papers were nothing more
Than a couple of signatures, though.

Who knew a couple signatures could ruin your childhood,
Ruin your happiness, your joys?
You fears come to life.

A child who was once seven,
Now has to act like they're fifteen.
Childhood ended with a couple of signatures.
