  1. 21. Moving On Was Never Meant To Be Easy

    • By Floribel
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems September 2020

    Moving on was
    never meant to be easy.
It will hurt, it will be painful,
    it will be exhausting,

  2. 22. Forgetting You

It's time to move on and just let them go. It was fun while it lasted, but it's time to close that chapter.

There is a time to love
    And a time to forget
A time to get rid of
And a time to close set

  3. 23. Ashes In My Eyes

    • By Aprille Ruth Sidro
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems March 2011

This poem is about letting go of someone you wish will love you back, but seeing him happy with someone is the reason I set him free.

When the sun starts to fade
No, I won't give in 'cause your
    face still remains
and your soul is beneath my skin.

My story is not finished. It won't be the end of my story until The Good Lord calls me home. It's been so much, so soon. Let me tell you how I want it to begin. March 31, 2006 I was in a...

  4. 24. Everything Was Nothing

    • By Libby Bergmann
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems May 2014

Breaking up and moving on. This poem is about coming to terms with a break up.

    The looks, the heat
Every smile, so sour, so sweet.
I had known you made me complete.
Everything I needed, I never wanted more,

  5. 25. Lost Love

This poem is for all the people who have had to say good-bye to a love that just was not meant to be but was real and honest. Not always do we get to be or stay with the person that we love, and we have to let them go and wish them well as they move on.

The most amazing moment was when we met.
The love and time I have shared with you
    have all been without regret.

One has to find themself, I agree, and not be totally reliant on somebody. I know because I was never allowed to live freely; now my independence I treasure dearly.

  7. 27. The One-Sided Affair

    • By Devon
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems March 2014

I loved a girl who did not feel the same, and now I can't look into her eyes without feeling shame, so I try to distant myself from her, which hurts as much as loving her.

I loved her eyes, I loved her hair,
I loved her looks, I loved her stare.
I loved her attitude, so full of delight.
I loved her mind, so quick and so bright.

  8. 28. Forget

    • By Kristine B. Magdaraog
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems November 2016

It's the relationship we thought would last, but then the other person gave up. It's been months, but I still can't forget the memories we had.

The stars above keep reminding me
Of the times that we spent,
But the memories that we share
    Have come to an end.

  9. 29. Broken Hearts And Prayers

    • By Alexis Daniels
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems November 2013

This is for the man who broke my heart. I gave him all I had and more, and he took everything I did for granted. We are still together, but I'm still praying for a change in him. I love you, baby; please realize that.

When your heart chooses a path and you walk so far,
nothing can turn you back from where you are.
No pain, no scars can make you turn away,
there's nothing that anyone can do nor say.

  10. 30. Moving On

    • By Amy W.
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems May 2014

A poem about a broken family and moving on

What the eye does not see, the heart does not grieve for...
But when the truth comes out, it will always hurt more.
Blinded by love, I failed to see how much of a jerk
    You really were to me.

  11. 31. You In 8.2

It is proven that the amount of time that it takes to fall in love with someone is about 8.2 seconds. What inspired me to write this poem was how fast it all goes by. And then one day, you could be sitting on your bed, crying for another chance when they've already left. All in a matter of well, seconds.

    Only seconds
    to fall in love,
    to be immersed,
    to want someone.

  12. 32. Ode To Love

This poem's about the loss of romance, a love that was magically entranced,
till fate stepped into the darkness of night and stole a woman's true love of her life.

To everything there's a time and season
Time to laugh and to weep for good reason.
A season for living, to find true love
And a time to dance with angels above...

  13. 33. I Love You

    • By Karissa L. Bailey
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems February 2006

A woman struggles with feelings she still has for her man after she has already broken up with him.

    The intentions are real
    But the truth is untold,
Patiently awaiting the lies to unfold.
Her heart shatters with the thought of his touch.

    • By Trang Ng

"They're shooting stars, a spectacular moment of light in the heavens, fleeting glimpse of eternity, and in a flash they're gone."

  15. 35. My First Love...My First Heartbreak

I am a woman of independence. I can say that I am successful in my family, work, studies, and career, everything except in love. At the age of 24, for the first time in my life, I fell in love with someone. I thought my first love would last, but I made mistakes. I lost love because of what I am. The guy thinks I am a woman so hard to reach for....it breaks my heart and every time I think of him, I really don't know how to mend my broken heart.....worst, he's eyeing our common friend.

I never thought I would love someone like you,
Never in my dreams that I would meet you.
But then, as I traveled on my life's journey,
You walked into my life, and I fell for you.

  16. 36. The Girl Who Wished For A Time Machine

Everyone has dated someone who couldn't let go of the past. This poem is about a previous love who could not put the past in the past.

    These teardrops beside me flow,
From a quiet, happy, thankful soul.
The years taking their expensive toll,
Her beautiful smile a grand seed to sow.

  18. 38. Always Be

I am a simple girl with simple thoughts, but on occasion, something will flow through. With those simple thoughts, I've always had complex feelings and emotions. It's always been hard for me to reveal my true self, unless I put it in writing. Everyone has that one person they wish they could express all of their feelings to but can't for some reason or another. These feelings can be hard to express. This one goes out to the one that got away...

We've connected through times of joy
    Even through times of pain
I can see right through your show and
Unfortunately, I have to let you know

  19. 39. I Used To Love You

    • By Avery Rose
    •  Published by Family Friend Poems December 2016

This poem is about how love, no matter how strong, will still fade if unrequited.

    I used to love you,
    Gently, carefully...
As I was afraid of falling too deep.
