Divorce Poem

It's a brief description of what small families go through when dealing with the splitting of parental figures.

Tell me what you truly think, whether it's bad or good. I want to know what I need to improve in my poetry.

From Family To Strangers

Raw sadness fills the house
as the burning of fragrances is the only form of light.
Beating.
The lonely hearts barely live as people are torn away from them.
The word family is gone, and replaced with strangers.

Hurt.
Mother cries herself to happiness.
Destroyed.
Father swallows pills to hide the pain from himself.
Ashamed.
Johnny cuts the sadness from his unblessed soul.
Each tell themselves that things will turn out fine;
a way to sleep at night.

Divorce.
An awful yet easy solution; a way to give up hope.

Hey. I know how you feel. It started some years ago when I was eight. I woke up one morning to an odd sound. It sounded like my mommy and daddy yelling. It stopped after about two minutes, honestly I was stupid enough to think everything would be okay. Nowadays they fight all the time, literally. Even on my birthdays. Anyways let's just say after a while, I got three very very bad illnesses. Paranoia, Depression, and suicidal thoughts. Everyday I wish I would die. Anyways, great poem, it describes everyone who has gone through divorces perfectly. :)
