I Love You Even When I Don't Want To

There's this guy, and I am, without a doubt, in love with him. And I think he loves me too. But the problem is, he is so far out of my league that I don't know how this would go. I mean, we're friends and all, but I'm scared I'll get hurt.

I know I can't have it both ways
We had a certain amount of days

But I still think of you
Even though it hurts, it's true

I know she's your type,
But I don't get the hype

You used to love the way I'd write
Songs for you; you said it was a delight

Was I so blind to imagine
All the things that could have happened?

Don't tell me it's all in my head
That gives me something else to dread

Because I swear that when you look at me
There's something there only you and I can see

So tell me why you would leave
At first, it was hard to believe

And yet even today,
You still look my way

When I talk to your friend
You look like you can't comprehend

Why I'm talking to them
It's like you condemn

All the words you never said
And why I don't talk to you instead

I know I love you
Even when I don't want to

And I know you love me too
Even if you'll never say you do
