    Motherhood

    in Mother Child Poems

    these tired hands
    guide my children
to catch fireflies in magical meadows
to cross a busy city street
    these heavy arms
    hold soft, smiling infants
    and carry their worlds
    these blistered feet
    dance wild and free, barefeet
    to steady their shaky ground
    these eyes
    see truth
    see hope
    see life
in the eyes of my babies
    and so-
    I keep walking.
