My dad passed away last year, but I still wanted to acknowledge his birthday. We will forever miss his presence on this earth, but we also know someday we will celebrate together for eternity.

    in Spiritual Poems about Death

No presents bought, no candles blown; this year you walk on streets of gold,
And it's so much more than the stories you've been told.

The sun is shining on your face,

My child is more precious than anything else on this earth. A new life, a true gift. The moment we met, a bond we will always have, a date we will always know, a time we will always share, a celebration...your birthday!

  4. Love And Hugs

I began writing poetry in middle age. For about 5 years I lived aboard a yacht in remote areas of Australia, mostly in the Torres Strait. We had intermittent TV and radio signal depending on the anchorage, and I began writing poems for family and friends for special occasions. My poems are generally comic and whimsical in tone and inspired by actual events.

    in Birthday Poems

    A bunch of flowers,
    A homemade cake,
    That special gift,
    A birthday steak.

I lost my mother many years ago. The date of her birth is also the date of her passing. She is sadly missed. I love you, Mum!

    in In Memory Poems

I lost you all those years ago,
But memories don't fade; they grow.
Your special day will always be
One that means so much to me.

  7. Happy Birthday In Heaven

I write poems for my own personal therapy. All my poems are true and are from feelings I've felt at some point. I'm a mother of 4 kids who are my world.

    in In Memory Poems

    The very first month
    Of each passing year
    Brings up your birthday
    Even though you're not here.

I once missed my cousin Julie's birthday. It wasn't until the last minute I remembered, but the only card I had didn't have a verse, so I had to write my own. She loved it.

    in Birthday Poems

I'm so sorry I missed your birthday.
    A special day, I know it's true.
But birthdays are only here one day,
And I love you the whole year through.

  10. January's Child Of Mine

I realize people usually celebrate birthdays of those loved ones and friends we still have with us on this earth. That is the usual way of things, this is true, but not to the mother who loses her child. There is no normal way of things for her anymore. So this is my birthday poem I have written for my loving son who was recently taken home to heaven and since my son's birthday is in the month of January, and this is his first birthday in heaven, this is my poem. Happy Birthday, my Chris.

    in Grief Poems

    January's child of mine,
    sweet miracle of God's design.

Oh, how I can recall the night.

  11. To My Little Brother

    • By Michaela Hart
    • Published by Family Friend Poems January 2019 with permission of the Author.

This is a little poem written for my little brother. He is a sweet little thing and loves to have fun. It is really cute to see him standing up for me, his big sister, against people twice his size and age. It is fun to listen to him talk incessantly about the books he reads. Then there are the nice moments where he snuggles up with me. Mostly, it is fun to watch him grow and mature.

    in Birthday Poems

    A year has passed away,
    Never to be back.
    I hope this little greeting
    Suffices as a plaque.
