1. Love Me Through It All
love me
through it all
the beautiful days
the dark days
the days when I am drowning
the days when I am lost
the days when I am stagnant
for it is love,
and only love,
that heals all wounds
Featured Shared StoryHow beautiful it is and how vividly expressed! The way you need love is that he must "love you through it all". The simplest yet the most complex thing to do is to keep loving through the...

2. Despite The Storms
in Short Poems
Despite the storms,
beauty arrives like
it was always going to.
Despite the darkness,
the light returns.
Despite your loss,
your heart will be
full again.
Despite the breaking,
your heart will feel
like it belongs in the
land of joy once more.
This is how it will
always be. Keep living.

3. Seeing Ourselves Clearly
in Short Poems
It’s difficult to take in the entirety of something
when you are standing inside of it.
Valleys are best seen from peaks.
Mountains from their bases.
The ocean from the shore.
Perhaps this is why we rely on other’s eyes
to see ourselves clearly.
Perhaps this is why we struggle to wholly view
who we are.Featured Shared StoryOne should always keep an open mind when viewing the world around them, and what you say in your beautiful poem is so true, and other people often can see our inner beauty before we do. That...

4. You're Worthy And You Matter
You weren’t born
to lose yourself
within this darkness.
You were born
to rise,
to shine,
and thrive.
You were born
to live,
to give,
to love,
and
to be loved.
(You’re worthy and you matter)
Featured Shared StoryI love this poem. It really hit home. Often times, I forget that I am worthy too. I matter just as much as the next person. I lose myself in the darkness often. But, when I read this poem, I...

5. Fixing A Broken Heart
I can’t tell you
how to fix
a broken heart,
but I can tell you
the importance
of keeping moving.
I can tell you
that even when
you have no idea
which direction to go,
bravery is putting
one foot in front
of the other
anyway.Featured Shared StoryI like it. Those of us who have ever been in love or thought we were in love, know what it's like to have our heart broken. But I agree that time moves on. Not all love leads to heartbreak....

6. More Than Enough
Just tell her she is perfect in the dark
her light shines
so the whole world can see her heart
hold her tight
so she knows if she ever did fall
you would be there to catch her
you will be there through every storm
love her fiercely
including all her scars
and if she is brave enough
to stand in front of you
broken and fragile
make sure she knows
she is more than enoughFeatured Shared StoryI am in a new relationship. My favorite thing is when he tells me how beautiful I am or how he loves the way my eyes gleam. I know it won't always be this magical, but I want to hold on to it...

7. The Way You Look At Me
Even in those silent moments
You look at me as if I hung the moon
You make me forget that I was ever
bruised or broken.
You look at me as if
I hung the stars
across the sky for you.
With you,
my wings feel light and free.
Your smile puts all my doubts to sleep.
When I look at you
freedom is what we weave.

8. Snowflakes
in Short Poems
I caught snowflakes
on my fingertips
but they melted
to my dismay.
I could not hold on
to something
that did not want
to stay.
Featured Shared StoryAwesome. When more of us realize that, the better off we all will be. I really like this poem.

9. What Healing Is Meant To Look Like
in Short Poems
I don’t know
what healing
is meant
to look like,
but washing
the smell of you
from my hoodie
feels like
a good place
to start
Featured Shared StoryI'm very fond of short, powerful, poems, and this is one for sure. Recovery can be the hardest thing we do, but it's always, always, worth it. Good write/read.

10. The Dark Days Will Pass
in Short Poems
There will be dark days,
when you feel alone
with your aching heart
but that doesn’t mean
you will always be.
The sun will always
peer through the clouds.
Let its light show you
the love you have forgotten.
Featured Shared StoryI think that is true to every person's life, and what he or she needs is patience that brings a glorious morning after a gloomy night. I had also once gone through such dark days, which later...

11. Stronger
in Short Poems
She never let life
or the weight that
came along with it
weigh her down, it
only made her stronger.
Featured Shared StoryI think that is what living is all about. We live, we learn, we make changes, and we live on; hopefully, stronger.
-
12. Your Wounds
in Short Poems
Time doesn’t heal wounds
to make you forget.
It doesn’t heal wounds to
erase the memories.
Time leaves you with a scar
to remind you of how you fought through it.
Time leaves you with a scar
to remind you of how you bled
and how you survived.
You survived.
Featured Shared StoryVery nicely done. I totally agree with you. I've used this same approach in my own life. I think sometime we pay more attention to what we're about to go through instead of how much you've...
-
13. Like The Moon
in Short Poems
I will be
like the moon
and learn to shine
even when
I am not whole.Featured Shared StoryVery insightful. Self-love can be (and maybe should be) the first love we encounter. Even when we're not perfect.
-
14. Put Heartbreak To Rest
in Short Poems
Put heartbreak to rest.
Untangle your soul
from its tight grip.
Say goodbye to the
parts holding on.
Move forward in peace
and discover the new,
evolved you.Featured Shared StoryThese are the word I needed just to be in peace. I have experienced broken relationship ties from friendship ties, family ties and relationship ties. It's hard to let go, but I have to....

15. Fighting For Their Affection
If they make you
work for their attention
fight for their affection
beg for their love
realize
you will spend a lifetime
yearning
wanting
chasing
something
that was never yours
and never will be.
Featured Shared StoryA sad truth that takes many of us far too long to realize. Just because we want something or even think we deserve it, doesn't mean we will get it or even need it.

16. You Could Have Given Up
You could have given up,
but you kept on going.
You could have seen obstacles,
but you called them adventures.
You could have called them weeds,
but instead you called them wildflowers.
You could have died a caterpillar,
but you fought on to be a butterfly.
You could have denied yourself goodness,
but instead you chose to show
yourself self-love. You could have defined
yourself by the dark days, but instead
through them you realised your light.
Featured Shared StoryAnother good one! I enjoyed it very much. And I think most of us can relate; I know I can. Thanks for sharing.

17. And The World Carries On
in Short Poems
The plates will still shift
and the clouds will still spew.
The sun will slowly rise
and the moon will follow too.
Life’s beauty will continue
to flourish all around,
but now you are gone,
these birds have no sound.
And my heart does not beat.
It is still inside my chest.
My tears keep on falling
and my head will not rest.
But I have no choice only
to move through this life.
Endlessly attempting
to fill this longing that is rife.
Featured Shared StoryThis poem is really so good. I feel this poem; it's just amazing.

18. God Is Still Right There
in Faith Poems
our weeping may only endure
for the night, but
even when joy finally drapes
our sunrise
God is still right there
tenderly walking us through
every whispered prayer
Featured Shared StoryLovely poem that touched my heart. God is always with us. He hears every prayer.
-
19. Final Moments
It wrecks me, that last moment
that played out so wrong.
Our hopeless eyes locked
just a few seconds too long.
And my eyes begged yours
to ask me to stay.
And your eyes welled up
as you walked away.
Featured Shared StoryShort but powerful. My favorite kind. This poem shows what can happen when two people who can't be together (for whatever reason) don't want to be apart.

20. Butterfly Wings
in Change Poems
We all need
some measure of comfort,
the safety of a cocoon,
But I remind myself
that change is good,
that I cannot spend
my whole life
being a caterpillar,
that courage
wears butterfly wings
and the sky has never looked
more inviting.
Featured Shared StoryGreat job. I really like it. Putting on our wings and taking another chance could be the very best thing for us.
