The True Meaning Of Life
The years have passed by
In the blink of an eye,
Moments of sadness
And joy have flown by.

I have experienced growing up with a single parent. There were five children in the house, so needless to say- we didn’t always get what we wanted. But, we had each other as a loving family and that kept us strong! So we all stride to help one another. As our Mother worked hard everyday to keep a roof over our heads, and put food on the table. She always told us to never let go of your dreams!

In the blink of an eye,
Moments of sadness
And joy have flown by.
I couldn't have said it any better than Patricia Fleming. This is exactly how I feel. I've gone that route where I would buy things in the hope that I would feel better, however, it never...

You may see me struggle,
but you won't see me fall.
Regardless if I'm weak or not,
I'm going to stand tall.
This is the best poem that I have ever read in my entire life. I grew up in a family where I had to see my mother being abused by my dad several times since I was five years old. I am 15...

Life is crazy
And totally unpredictable...
It's going to push you over,
Kick you while you're down,
Such a wonderful poem with precious advice! Most people seem to get inevitably entangled in the most peculiar behaviors so specifically characterized in homo sapiens:

As I walk through life,
I look at all I have done.
I had wandered aimlessly
And wondered what I have become.
A wonderful poem and every word is true. At the moment, a dreadful trauma my hubby is going through, that goes for me too. He was suddenly struck down with sepsis and was seriously ill. He...

In life there are people that will hurt us and cause us pain,
but we must learn to forgive and forget and not hold grudges.
In life there are mistakes we will make,
I've been dealing with issues in my relationship with my husband. We have been married for 6 and a half years, we have 2 beautiful kids together, but come to find out he's been cheating on me...
If I were to leave this world today, I'd want to be remembered, it's true,
for going that extra mile just to show my love for you.
I'd want for you to be proud of me and know I always tried.
When you hurt, I did, too; your tears I also cried.
Beautiful poem. It inspires me a lot with Einstein's words, "Try not to be a success but of value." It goes into my inner core and resonates a deep feeling in me, to live a purposeful life....

Just because I have never done drugs, doesn't mean I'm not cool.
Just because I am a virgin, doesn't make me lame.
Just because I'm not a fighter, doesn't mean I'm weak.
Just because I am not a party girl, doesn't mean I can't hang.
It's a really cool poem, kudos to you. Anytime, I think about composing one, I cry buckets instead. Being a teen is really difficult.
Well, son, I'll tell you:
Life for me ain't been no crystal stair.
It's had tacks in it,
And splinters,
I was not a very good student when I was in school. I did the minimal amount of work required, retained little and barely paid attention. In 1965, my 8th grade English teacher read MOTHER TO...
This is a daily reminder
To relax,
To not get angry over small things,
To stay calm.
This is a lovely poem, obviously written by a lovely, caring person.
I wish my son had this poem before he took his life.
I wish he'd read it daily and maybe he'd have had a wife.
I wish...

They say never give up.
Never give in.
Keep fighting that fight
So the devil doesn't win.
I love your poem, Caitlyn! A while ago I was searching for lyrics or poems to use for my composition for my music GCSE, and I stumbled upon your poem and was instantly inspired by your words...
