    We surround ourselves with the best kinds of people.

    in Best Friend Poems

    The best kinds of people are warm and kind.
    They are always there and they never mind.
    The best kinds of people smile and embrace.
    They support you with strength and grace.

  4. Spring

    • By Camille Gotera
    • Published by Family Friend Poems December 2013 with permission of the Author.

    The reason I wrote this poem was because I absolutely hate winter and love spring time. This is mostly because everything is dead in the winter- there's no life. And I'm a very sensitive person, so just the atmosphere of winter makes me sad. Another reason is because I had been through a bad experience- relationship wise- over the winter, and I feel that spring time is a clean new start. No more depressing poems and songs! :)

    in Spring Poems

    Analysis of Form and Technique

    When the cold, harsh winter has given its last breath,
    When the sky above shows life instead of death,
    When the claws reaching to the frozen sky become decorated with leaves,
    When the animals -long in hiding- scurry from trees,

  5. Unheard Voice

    • By Littin Thomas Modoor
    • Published by Family Friend Poems March 2009 with permission of the Author.

    Abortion! There are people who do not care about this topic. For a moment of fun between a boy and girl often ends in the serious topic of abortion. Mostly, the innocent child in the mother's womb becomes the victim or prey. I hope this poem will change many mothers' and fathers' minds so that the innocent, unheard voice will get a chance to live. Please don't give your child the name of abortion!

    in Abortion Poems

    Nine months are slowly getting close.
    I am surrounded by the blanket of yours;
    Slowly I am growing in your womb,
    Please don't send me to the tomb;

    I self-harmed for a long time, and I contemplated suicide. I'm making progress; it's almost been a year since I last cut. I just want to let people know that it really does get better. You can do it.

    • Published by Family Friend Poems March 2014 with permission of the Author.

    My sister passed a way 11 years ago to cancer, and even though I miss her so much, I know someday I will see her again. Yes, I do cry for her sometimes...but I also celebrate and laugh more often for when she was alive. She was so funny!!!
    R.I.P Erika Y. Sarabia 09/11/1980-03/26/2002

    in Sister Death Poems

    I am just a girl who misses her sister.
    I wonder if she's missing me too.
    I hear the wind when everything else is silent.
    I see the horizon when I stare straight ahead.
