  2. Delight In

Each second is another chance to do the extraordinary, to take up a new challenge, to live an amazing experience, to make your life special. Life is precious but short. Whatever you do, wherever you go, in the end what finally matters is nothing but how happy you felt and if you enjoyed the journey. The clock is ticking every second. It stops for none. If time has no brake, why should our happiness have one?

    in Life Lesson Poems

If you're tired of doing nothing
Rubbing your eyes until they're red
    Getting bored and feeling blank
With no thoughts in your head

  4. The Best Day Of My Life

How do you decide if your day was good? When good things happened to you, is it? But what will happen and what will not is not in our control. So, does that mean the good days are not in our hands. I feel that we have formed an incorrect perspective of what is meant a good day. It is my life, my day, my actions, then why should it be dependent on the materialistic or short-lived things. Here is what I think a best day is and how we should live to make each day the best.

    in Life Lesson Poems

The best day of my life,
    When will it be?
    When I score top grades,

    • By Randy Cadenhead
    • Published by Family Friend Poems August 2020 with permission of the Author.

This was a Christmas gift to my children. So much of what I learned from my Dad seemed to soak in by osmosis, simply by a lifetime of observing a quiet, thoughtful and reverent man. He is in his 90s now and keeps a framed copy of this poem in his office.

  15. The Number 24 Bus

    • By Paul Hayward
    • Published by Family Friend Poems June 2018 with permission of the Author.

I have wasted too much time looking forward and anticipating what I think will be ahead of me instead of living for today and enjoying life now. Suddenly I am a middle-aged man with more time behind me that in front. I now know that I must live for the moment and take in the colors and the scenery that surround me.

    in Life Lesson Poems

Life is like a journey on the number 24 bus,
So welcome aboard, young one; come, sit here with the rest of us.
Let's hope you're going to be on here for more than just a while.
Look out of the window, young one, and enjoy every single mile.

  18. What Matters Most

    • By Louis
    • Published by Family Friend Poems June 2017 with permission of the Author.

I wrote this poem while I was in jail. I missed a lot of things while I was gone, and the one thing that I missed that really gets to me is my daughter's graduation. I've done a lot of soul searching and looking for answers, and what I've come up with is that there is nothing more precious than time. You can't turn it back and you can't start over. I have a lot of guilt, but life is a learning experience, right? So I'm going to turn this into a positive thing.

    in Graduation Poems

    And love like a fool.
    Try not to judge,
